LONG BEACH, CA – The Pacific Merchant Shipping Association (PMSA) extends its congratulations and thanks to current Chief Executive Officer Mario Cordero for his years of dedicated leadership at the Port of Long Beach on the occasion of his upcoming retirement and also warmly welcomes Dr. Noel Hacegaba as he steps into the role as new Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2026.
“Mario Cordero’s steady, unwavering commitment to strengthening and investing in the Port of Long Beach has been a hallmark of his many years of leadership both on the Commission and as CEO at the Port,” said Mike Jacob, President of PMSA. “He has served the Port through some of the most extraordinary times of challenge and transformation in the maritime industry, yet Mario will leave the Port with an enduring legacy—one marked by collaboration, innovation, and a deep dedication to the communities of Long Beach.
“As we honor Mario’s contributions upon his retirement, we also look ahead with great enthusiasm to the next chapter of Port of Long Beach leadership. With 15 years of service to the Port, including his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer, Noel brings an existing understanding of the Port’s operations to the job on day one. His insight, strategic thinking, and collaborative spirit have already earned him respect across the global supply chain.
