San Pedro Bay Ports Container Dwell Times for June 2026

Container dwell times at the San Pedro Bay Port Complex remained strong in June 2026 as significant cargo volumes continued to move efficiently through the nation’s busiest gateway. Local truck dwell averaged 2.89 days, remaining below the three-day threshold for the 17th consecutive month. Rail-destined cargo averaged 5.43 days, reflecting continued stability in inland cargo movement.

The positive operational performance came during a strong month for cargo activity at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Despite the high volume of cargo moving through the port complex, cargo continued to flow efficiently, demonstrating the coordination and resilience of marine terminal operators, dockworkers, truckers, railroads, and other supply chain partners.

“Maintaining truck dwell below three days for 17 consecutive months reflects the consistent performance and reliability of the San Pedro Bay supply chain,” said Natasha Villa, External Affairs Manager for the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association (PMSA). “Even during periods of strong cargo volumes, our marine terminals, dockworkers, drayage community, rail partners, and other supply chain stakeholders continue to work together to keep cargo moving efficiently.
